Benefiting St. Jude

JOHNSTOWN, Colo.–Commercial Laundry Systems of the Rockies (Commercial Laundry Systems) recently announced an initiative to donate 5 percent of profits, gleaned from equipment sales during May 2016, to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (St. Jude). Company owner Pete Valconesi, who expects the donated sum to be between $3,000 and $5,000, said he’s glad to give back – especially when those funds can help heal sick children.

St. Jude, first established in 1962 by entertainer Danny Thomas, is a hospital focused on understanding, treating and defeating childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. “We’ve spent more than half a century finding cures and saving children, and our groundbreaking research has helped push the survival rate for childhood cancer from less than 20 percent in 1962 to more than 80 percent today,” states the hospital’s website.

By providing a portion of profits to St. Jude, Valconesi and his customers are contributing to the cause. “As an owner of a business, I’m grateful to be in a position where I can give back and help benefit St. Jude,” said Valconesi. “Sick children tear at my heart strings. I’ve got a soft spot for them and if I can help them in some small way I want to do that.”

That’s why Valconesi is also encouraging the public to donate to St. Jude’s online at www.stjude.org. Valconesi maintains he’s also committed to donating a portion of May equipment profits on an annual basis.
