Leonard Automatics recently hired Howard Burton III as their Service Support Technician/Programmer. He will be collaborating with Leonard’s Engineering team to design the electrical controls and the Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) that are present in many of Leonard’s machines.
Burton received his first formal electrical/ electronics training in the navy in the maintenance of communications systems working as an Interior Communications Electrician. His responsibilities included maintenance and trouble-shooting of controls for atmospheric indicators, ship control, phone systems, boiler systems, and steam turbines. Burton has over 40 years of experience in electrical control systems including work in the textile, plastics, and composites industries, as a technician and a supervisor. His most recent role before Leonard was working for an automotive parts supplier as an Automation Engineer.
He is married with 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
