OSHKOSH, Wis. — Continental Girbau Inc. (Continental) E-Series Washers are programmable to meet the cleaning and disinfecting specifications of any healthcare laundry item, including sheets, blankets, bed pads, gowns, scrubs and more. E-Series Washers – available in 20-, 30-, 40-, 60-, 90-, 130- and 255-pound capacities – boast extract speeds reaching 400 G-force, a highly programmable Inteli Control and a soft-mount design for simple installation.
The E-Series Inteli Control allows complete control of every conditional aspect of the wash process, offering 20 pre-programmed cycles and up to 79 individually modifiable cycles. Operators can program water temperature (by degree), wash rotation speed and duration, water levels, bath cool-down (by degree) and six extract speeds. Operators simply load, enter a program number and press start.
“The Inteli is so flexible, it can be programmed for a wash cycle of as little as three minutes up to an extended program lasting for hours or days,” said Joel Jorgensen, Continental vice president of sales and customer services. “Optional overnight soak and delayed start are also standard features.”
Moreover, the Inteli features SmartLoad technology, which automatically tells operators when the washer is loaded to 25, 50 or 100 percent capacity. The control can also be programmed manually on the washer or using Continental’s Inteli Manager Tool (IMTx). IMTx is a software system that gives users the ability to custom design wash programs via a personal computer. IMTx saves valuable time when configuring multiple programs on one machine, or when programming multiple machines.
Thanks to high extract speeds up to 400 G-force, E-Series Washers remove more water from each load, generating speeds of 75-200 G-force. As a result, E-Series Washers lower drying time by up to 50 percent for huge gains in laundry productivity. Dryers run less often – using less natural gas. Hospitals and healthcare facilities complete more laundry in less time, using fewer labor hours.
Engineered to conserve water, natural gas and electricity, E-Series Washers feature a sump-less design. When compared to washers with a sump, E-Series saves up to 3 gallons of water with each fill, according to the company. The washer’s AquaFall and AquaMixer systems further curb water usage. AquaFall releases water into the load via holes in the drum lifters. As the drum turns, lifters release water from above to better penetrate fabric. With E-Series, laundry is saturated from above and below. This cuts water usage and rinse cycle times while improving wash quality. AquaMixer further improves efficiency by mixing hot and cold water before entering the drum. This achieves very precise water temperatures – offering greater control over hot water consumption.
Finally, E-Series Washers are easy to install and don’t require concrete foundations and bolts. Thus, they are simpler to relocate and service when compared to hard-mount washers.
