ITASCA, Ill. — Ellis Corporation announced the appointment of industry veteran Thad Southwick to the position of Sales Engineer / Project Manager.
Southwick will coordinate with Ellis laundry and wastewater equipment divisions, along with Vega Systems and Ludell Manufacturing to ensure all aspects of projects are carried out and fulfilled to the full satisfaction of their customers. This includes facility layout and design work. A vital component of the job will be to understand the needs of the customer and keep communication at the forefront so everyone involved is engaged and informed throughout a project, from inception to completion.
This position is actually a homecoming for Southwick, who worked for Ellis from 1998 to 2013 as a Sales Manager with his own territory. After beginning his design education on a drafting board, he was one of the first designers to switch over to CAD software. He entered the industry in 1989, working in sales and design positions for G. A. Braun and American Laundry Machinery before joining Ellis. After a three-year hiatus at Turn-Key Industrial Engineering Service, Southwick is happy to return to his Ellis family, stating that he feels that he is picking up right where he left off.
