Ken Tyler Retires


Encompass LLC, McDonough, Ga. has announced the retirement of Ken Tyler, vice president of government operations. Tyler led and developed Encompass government programs since 2004. He will continue to consult during a transition period.

Tyler was recently awarded the VA Lifetime Achievement Award for his part in modernizing and building 73 laundry facilities supporting VA Healthcare Operations.

Tyler managed the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), Laundry and Textile Operations from 1977 till his retirement from the DVA in 2000.

A graduate from the VA Leadership program, Tyler received numerous awards for his accomplishments.

Tyler received the American Spirit Honor Medal in 1966 after graduating from Marine Corps Recruit Training at Parris Island SC. After 28 years of service in the US Marine Corps Reserve, he retired in 1993, as a Chief Warrant Officer 4.

Tyler is a recipient of over 30 combat decorations, including the Silver Star and 2 Purple Hearts. He is a graduate of the Industrial College for the Armed Forces and the Marine Corps Amphibious Warfare College.

Tyler will consult with the laundry industry as CEO, TYCORPS INTERNATIONAL, a position he left in 2004 where his organization partnered with activities involved in laundry management and government operations.
