Schwartz Receives IAHTM Award

The International Association for Healthcare Textile Management (IAHTM) has named Alan Schwartz a ‘2018 Lifetime Achievement’ recipient. The honor was presented at IAHTM’s annual meeting held recently in Naples, FL.
Each year, IAHTM recognizes an individual with its Lifetime Achievement award for his or her career-long contributions to and accomplishments in the textile industry.
Schwartz is the recently retired president of Superior Uniform Group, Seminole, FL, where he remains as a consultant and a member of its board of directors. He was nominated for the award by Nicole Grubich, IAHTM 2nd VP; she is executive director, West Michigan Shared Hospital Laundry, Grand Rapids, MI.

In her nomination, Grubich said of Schwartz: “Alan has led our industry with innovation, advocacy and textile globalization. He has been a supporter of IAHTM as well as other associations and, as a contributor to many industry events, he has provided education for all both here an overseas.”
Also honored at the event was Steve Ripley, past president of Space Coast Hospital Services Inc., Rockledge, FL.
IAHTM is a nonprofit membership organization for healthcare laundry cooperatives that provides senior-level textile managers with resources and support to maximize their laundries’ efficiencies and control costs without compromising quality or patient focus.
