ALM postponed its upcoming IMPACT 2020 in a recent press release that read:
All of us at ALM have been as watchful of the COVID-19 pandemic as we are sure you have been. To best care for our members, the public, and our staff, we are making the choice to postpone IMPACT 2020. The 2020 IMPACT Conference will be held November 2-4 at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
All current conference registrations will be transferred to the new date when final. If you are a sponsor or presenter, you will be contacted separately when more information is confirmed.
At this time, please be sure to cancel travel arrangements, including flights and rental cars. We are in contact with The Broadmoor to find out if all ALM block rooms will be cancelled automatically. Please be sure to visit ALM’s website for more information when available about the hotel cancellation process, as well as details about ALM’s cancellation policy adjustment for IMPACT registrations.
We know this is a worrying time for everyone; all of this has been unexpected and unprecedented and the situation seems to be fluid as it changes daily. We encourage you to rely on the CDC as the official source for status updates and recommendations. We encourage gathering facts for making good decisions; rumors and panic are not the cornerstone of a reliable organization. We absolutely want to assure you we are available to answer any questions and help textile care professionals around the globe in any way we can and keep moving forward, crossing each bridge as we come to it.

TCATA postponed its upcoming conference in a release that read:
“As you all know, the W.H.O. has designated Covid-19 to be a global pandemic, and the President has declared a National Emergency. In response to limits being put on travel and social gatherings, your Board of Directors recognized that holding our upcoming Conference as originally scheduled was simply not an option.
The Board considered rescheduling the Conference for later this year, but in light of the uncertainty surrounding the timeline of the epidemic, it decided to postpone until an appropriate time in 2021. The Board didn’t take this decision lightly, especially since we were all looking forward to celebrating our 100th Anniversary together. But in the shadow of the Coronavirus, we believe this decision was necessary to protect the health and safety of our members, which we put first and foremost.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding. We will provide further details on the 2021 Conference as soon as they become available.”

AAHOA Reschedules its 2020 Convention & Trade Show in a release that read:
The 2020 AAHOA Convention & Trade Show is being rescheduled to August 9-12. It will still be held in Orlando, Fla., at the Orange County Convention Center.
“AAHOA is committed to bringing America’s hoteliers, our partners, and the hospitality industry the best possible convention and trade show. The travel and tourism industry is facing uncertain times as the public’s perception of the risks posed by COVID-19 become the reality for America’s hoteliers. Our members are reporting that occupancy, RevPAR, and ADR are in distress. Hoteliers need this time to tend to their businesses as the travel and tourism industry adjusts to this new reality,” said AAHOA President & CEO Cecil Staton.
AAHOA is currently meeting with the Trump administration and Members of Congress to determine what can be done to mitigate the damage this health crisis is doing to the hospitality industry. The association is facilitating discussions between members and brand leaders as the industry works to address unforeseen cost pressures the crisis is placing on franchisees. AAHOA also continues to provide all hoteliers with information and resources about protecting their guests, employees, and properties, and navigating this evolving situation.
Earlier this week, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency in response to the growing threat of COVID-19. Just today he called on the state’s cities and counties to postpone or cancel mass gatherings. “While we are obviously disappointed in this turn of events, we are confident that rescheduling the convention is the right decision for our members, industry partners, and our association. I encourage all our friends in the hospitality industry to save the date, and I hope to see all in Orlando this August,” Staton said.
