Commercial laundry provider Bay State Linen is being recognized with a 2026 Mass Save Impact Award for energy-efficiency improvements at its Lawrence facility, according to a news release.
“The 2026 Mass Save Impact Award recipients demonstrate what can be achieved when organizations make energy efficiency a core part of their operations,” said Amy Vavak, Director, Customer Energy Management, National Grid.
Bay State Linen has demonstrated a significant commitment to energy efficiency through investments in high-impact equipment upgrades. Working with the Sponsors of Mass Save, the company completed several large-scale projects, including energy-efficient tunnel washers, ironers, and dryers.
Collectively, these improvements are projected to save approximately 7.9 million lifetime therms, equivalent to nearly 794,000 lifetime MMBtus of energy. By investing in advanced technologies that improve operational efficiency and reduce energy consumption, Bay State Linen is helping drive meaningful energy savings in the industrial sector.
Bay State’s equipment includes LAVATEC tunnel washers, presses, dryers and finishing equipment from their agreement with VEGA Systems.
The awards recognize 17 organizations and communities across Massachusetts for their leadership in energy efficiency, electrification, building modernization and other initiatives that are helping shape a more sustainable and resilient state.
