Changes on Association for Linen Management’s Board of Directors

James Mangini, RLLD, has joined the Association for Linen Management (ALM) Board of Directors. Mangini has been a long time member of ALM, and succeeds Rich Bott, RLLD, CLLM, as president-elect as Bott moves into the role of president. Mangini has over 15 years of experience in the industry as the director of linen services for Maine’s largest medical center, Maine Medical Center Linen Services.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as the president-elect of ALM,” said Mangini. “Our educational platform is second-to-none and has had a tremendous impact on my professional growth. Today’s laundry industry has never seen more challenges. From the demand to improve efficiencies, to financial stability of providers, our industry needs competent operators to lead us through these challenges.”

Mangini speaks passionately about helping ALM members successfully navigate the changes brought on by not only the COVID-19 pandemic, but working to ensure public safety and comfort and we move through this time.

“I will work to further strengthen ALM’s position as the industry leader in education and provide the information we need in our ever-evolving world,” said Mangini. “My background has allowed me the unique position to both serve as a senior leader at Maine Medical and also be the provider of linen programs for various healthcare institutions.”

Mangini credits ALM and its educational programs for his understanding of the healthcare dynamics in the textile care industry. With that understanding, he has educated his customers to improve their linen programs and reduce costs.

Nicole Grubich, RLLD, CLLM, is also joining the ALM Board of Directors. Grubich has been a long time member of ALM, and succeeds Shane Woodson, RLLD, as Board secretary.

“As a member of ALM for almost twenty years, I am elated to serve the association as Board Secretary,” said Grubich. “I am inspired by the success of my predecessors, and look forward to continuing the remarkable work they have accomplished.”

Grubich is the executive director and Board president of West Michigan Shared Hospital Laundry (WMSHL), and she currently serves on the American Reusable Textile Association (ARTA) Board. Grubich has previously held positions as 2nd vice president of the International Association for Healthcare Textile Management (IAHTM) Board and leadership of the Michigan ALM chapter. She was recognized as one of the 2016 “Remarkable and Visionary Women Leaders in the Grand Rapids Community” through the YWCA Tribute Awards, as well as featured in ALM’s inaugural issue of fresh Magazine as one of the successful women leaders in the industry. In her time with WMSHL, Grubich grew their pounds processed from 30 million to 49 million pounds.

Grubich also holds two certifications from ALM, the Registered Laundry and Linen Director (RLLD) and Certified Laundry and Linen Manager, allowing her to fully understand how these premier educational opportunities benefit the professionals of the textile care industry.

Jason Hartsell was reelected as ALM Board treasurer and will continue his work in guiding the association’s financial planning. Hartsell is the director of operations for United Hospital Services in Indianapolis and a U.S. Army veteran. Hartsell knows first-hand of the benefits to ALM education, because United Hospital Services ensures their customer service staff are educated through ALM Certified Laundry and Linen Manager program.

Shane Woodson, RLLD, has retired from the ALM Board of Directors. Woodson served ALM as Board secretary since 2015, enjoying the efforts he made with ALM staff and fellow Board members as the association conquered hurdles over the years, solidifying the organization and affirming its value through the current COVID-19 pandemic.
