Dempsey Acquires Capital Uniform Services

Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply, a family-owned, supplier of uniform and restaurant linen services since 1959, announced the purchase of Capital Uniform Services of Poughkeepsie, New York, from founders Dan and Elizabeth Morris. Capital Uniform, founded in 1979, has spent nearly five decades earning the trust of Hudson Valley businesses – a reputation Dempsey is proud to carry forward, according to the news release.

“Capital Uniform’s customers will continue to receive personal service from members of the Morris family who are staying on to represent Dempsey,” said Patrick J. Dempsey, president of Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply. “Those same friendly faces are now backed by Dempsey’s operational strengths and resources, commitment to innovation, and continuing integration of technologies that elevate our customers’ experience.”

Dempsey’s capacity will enable the company to serve a higher volume of commercial, industrial, and hospitality businesses in the Hudson Valley, expanding service south along the Hudson River from Hyde Park through Poughkeepsie, Beacon, and Newburgh, to White Plains and Yonkers in the New York metro.

Expanding on Capital Uniform’s offerings, Dempsey provides quality uniforms, table linens, towels, facility supplies, floor mats, and more. .”

In addition to the Corporate Office in Jessup, PA, Dempsey Uniform has six additional locations, servicing customers in Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. The Capital Uniform acquisition is a natural expansion of that coverage area, enlarging Dempsey’s footprint in New York’s Southern Tier and New York City to include the Hudson Valley region.
