Eco Expo Asia 2025, a leading global trade platform for the environmental protection industry, will take place from 28 – 31 October, 2025, at AsiaWorld-Expo, Hong Kong. The event will bring together leading exhibitors and thousands of buyers from across the world, providing a unique opportunity for businesses, governments, and advocates to collaborate on innovative solutions for a sustainable future. This year’s event promises to build on its legacy of success by introducing cutting-edge green technologies and facilitating impactful business connections.
Eco Expo Asia marks its 20th edition this year. Under the theme “Green Innovations for Carbon Neutrality”, the expo will focus on key areas such as green building technologies, waste management, renewable energy, green finance, green and smart mobility. The event will continue to promote startups and support research institutes to showcase R&D achievements. “Eco Asia Conference” and other concurrent seminars will be featured again, addressing various environmental issues and hot topics, along with a series of product demonstrations, providing participants with valuable insights and networking opportunities. With its strategic location in Hong Kong, the fair aims to connect international businesses with thriving regional markets in Mainland China and ASEAN, serving as a bridge for green innovation and sustainable development.
Industry context and importance
Eco Expo Asia takes place at a critical time, as governments and industries worldwide intensify their efforts to combat climate change. China continues to lead global sustainability initiatives, with its first-ever Energy Law coming into effect at the beginning of 2025.[1] This landmark legislation provides a framework for energy planning, green innovation, and market systems, aligning with the country’s ambitious goals to peak carbon emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060. By the middle of 2024, China’s renewable energy capacity had already reached 1.65 billion kilowatts, surpassing its coal-fired capacity and setting new benchmarks in clean energy development.[2] In addition, the country is addressing challenges related to renewable energy waste, such as discarded solar panels and wind turbine blades, through innovative recycling solutions piloted in provinces such as Jiangsu and Qinghai, demonstrating its commitment to a circular economy.[3]
Meanwhile, Hong Kong is actively developing as an international centre for green tech and green finance. The government has committed substantial funding through the Green Tech Fund (GTF)[4] and Innovation and Technology Fund[5] to support research and development projects that promote decarbonisation and environmental protection. In the 2025 – 2026 Budget, the government announced that the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation will transform the InnoCentre into a leading green technology hub, the “GreenTech Hub”, which will bring together over 200 green technology companies.[6] The Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s Sustainable Finance Action Plan is driving significant progress by ensuring financial institutions achieve net-zero operations by 2030 and financed emissions by 2050.[7] Such initiatives are complemented by major advancements in sustainable technologies and infrastructure across Mainland China and Hong Kong, positioning Eco Expo Asia as a critical platform for showcasing innovation and facilitating strategic partnerships towards a greener future.
Building on past success
Last year’s Eco Expo Asia attracted over 300 exhibitors from 11 countries and regions, as well as more than 8,500 buyers from 94 countries. The event facilitated over 300 business matching meetings and hosted 40 seminars and workshops, highlighting its effectiveness as a platform for driving green solutions and fostering collaborations. This year, Eco Expo Asia aims to expand its impact further by welcoming even more participants and strengthening partnerships between stakeholders across industries and regions.
Previous exhibitors and visitors alike have commended Eco Expo Asia for its emphasis on fostering meaningful connections and showcasing cutting-edge innovations. Among them, Mr Alfie Su, Area Sales Manager Asia for Dorset Green Machines, expressed his satisfaction with the event, saying: “The exhibition has exceeded our expectations, and what stands out is the high quality of visitors, as the attendees are genuinely interested in discussing technology and potential collaborations.”
Mr Keith Ang, Managing Director of Transco-Pac Transport & Environmental Pte Ltd also praised the event: “We attended Eco Expo Asia to explore new technologies and solutions that we can bring back to Singapore. Hong Kong is an excellent location for such events due to its accessibility and ease of communication. It has been a productive experience with 10 – 20 meaningful contacts made. We look forward to returning next year’s edition.”
Eco Expo Asia represents a unique opportunity to explore the latest advancements in green technologies, foster global partnerships, and contribute to the fight against climate change. As Mainland China and Hong Kong continue to lead in sustainability, the Expo will play a critical role in shaping the future of the environmental protection industry. By uniting stakeholders across the green ecosystem, Eco Expo Asia aims to drive meaningful progress toward a sustainable future.
Eco Expo Asia 2025 will take place in 28 – 31 October in AsiaWorld-Expo, Hong Kong. The “Click2Match” online platform, running from 21 October to 7 November 2025, will extend the show’s reach by enabling virtual business meetings and partnerships, ensuring broader participation and fostering meaningful global connections.
