Dr Thomas Neyers Appointed Chairman of ETSA

The European Textile Service Association (ETSA) announced the appointment of Dr Thomas Neyers (Alsco) as the new Chairman of ETSA, in a recent news release.

Dr. Neyers will succeed Andreas Holzer (Bardusch), who has led ETSA since 2020 as the Chairman of the ETSA Board. Dr Neyers will assume his role for a three-year term, starting from 1 July 2023. Since 2020, Dr. Neyers has been the Treasurer of ETSA and will be replaced in this capacity by Hartmut Engler (CWS).

Dr. Neyers, the newly appointed Chairman, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to ETSA. Dr. Neyers hails from Alsco, where he has demonstrated exceptional leadership in his executive position and a steadfast commitment advancement of the textile service industry.

“I look forward to continuing the good work of aligning the efforts of ETSA’s textile rental companies, suppliers and national associations so to strengthen the position of the textile service industry in the market and pursue our common interests and goals,” said Dr Neyers who is deeply committed to upholding the association’s mission and values in faithful continuity to the work done by Mr Holzer and his predecessors.

During his ETSA mandate, Andreas Holzer played a crucial role in guiding ETSA (and the textile service industry more broadly) through an unprecedented number of challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the energy crisis resulting from the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Under his leadership, ETSA provided unwavering support to the textile service industry, with ETSA always on the “political front-line”, advocating for the interests of the textile service industry to European-level stakeholders and policymakers.

In the coming years, ETSA will continue working closely with members to address their needs and drive sustainable growth in the textile service sector. Together, ETSA members will continue to navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, from sustainability targets, to digitalization and skills and much more.

The entirety of ETSA Secretariat and members express their heartfelt gratitude to Andreas Holzer for his outstanding leadership and dedication during his tenure as Chairman of ETSA. His contributions have played a vital role in the association’s success. ETSA Team extends its warmest wishes to Andreas Holzer in all his future endeavours.
