In Memory – Michael Hans Dreher


Michael Hans Dreher, former president & CEO of Kannegiesser USA passed away on October 8, 2019 due to pancreatic cancer. He was 72.

Dreher was born on May 31st, 1947 in Koenigsbronn, Germany to Wilhelm and Gisela Dreher. He joined the German Air Force at the age of 18 and rose through the ranks to become a fighter pilot, even winning the Top Gun competition while stationed in the United States in 1969.

Dreher’s military career brought him to North Texas, where he was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, first as a student and later as an instructor pilot while taking part in the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training Program.

After military service, Dreher took over as CEO of Kannegiesser USA in 2000. He remained in that position until 2013 when Phil Hart was named CEO. Kannegiesser USA was renamed Kannegiesser E-TECH upon merging with E-TECH in 2017.

Upon retirement, Dreher rekindled his interest in flight instruction.

Dreher is survived by his wife Kerry Mills Dreher; daughters Lisa Dreher and Christine Dreher-Bush; a son Matthias Dreher, and grandsons William Bush and Samuel Bush.
