PHILADELPHIA, PA – Monarch Brands, the region’s largest importer and manufacturer of commercial linens, towels, microfiber cleaning products and professional wipers, announced the move of their headquarters to Northeast Philadelphia. The move comes as the company celebrates its 70th anniversary.
The company is expanding from its current location in Southwest Philadelphia to a 300,000 square-foot facility on Norcom Road.
Founded as A&B Wiper Supply in 1947, the company started in professional wiping rags and has since diversified into many commercial and consumer textiles lines, as well as industrial and linen supply lines. It rebranded as Monarch Brands in 2015 to better reflect these diverse product offerings.
“We are proud to be at a point in our firm’s history where we can make this move, and drive capital efficiencies for years to come. This will allow us to grow without compromising our goal of delivering quality and value to our customers,” said Hal Kanefsky, president of Monarch Brands.
The move will allow the company to consolidate three East Coast warehouses. The move, along with the implementation of a new “pick and pack” system, quadrupled dock space, and new 4- tier roll-back racking system, should streamline operations and ensure efficiency now, and well into the future. The move is scheduled to be completed by May 1.
