Superior Health Linens, a division of Healthcare Linen Services Group in Cudahy, Wis., has reached a purchase agreement to replace their 20-year-old LAVATEC LP582 extraction press with a newer model. The machine is expected to be installed later this summer.
“The LP582 has been a key contributor to our processing capabilities over the last 20 years. Its straightforward controls and easy operation have made it both reliable and simple to maintain,” said Frank Seago, general manager of Superior Health Linens. He began working at the company in 2017, and served in engineering and operations roles before being promoted to his present position last year.
“We operated this durable machine six days a week, often running 16-20 hours per day, and it played a significant role in our decision to invest in another LP582 press. Its ability to consistently meet and exceed the demands of the industry is truly unmatched.”
Located five miles south of downtown and near Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport, Superior Health Linens bought their current LP582 in 2026 with other LAVATEC wash aisle equipment. A 155-pound capacity continuous tunnel wash system, six TT748 transfer dryers for medium and large loads, and a shuttle conveyor system are key components for a facility that processed 18 million pounds of linen in 2025.
“The updated controls and software of the LP582 press further enhance performance, allowing us to precisely manage pressing levels and fine-tune the balance between product longevity and operational efficiency,” explained Seago. “These advancements also streamline the troubleshooting process, enabling quicker and more effective issue resolution when needed.”
